This policy explains what personal data pharmacytimes.ie ("Pharmacy Times Ireland", "we") collects, why, who we share it with, and your rights. You can use the site without creating an account or telling us who you are.

Cookies and your consent

Some of the services below store or read cookies and similar technologies on your device. Where that isn't strictly necessary to run the site, we ask for your consent first through the consent banner shown when you arrive. You can change your choices at any time by reopening the consent settings, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Refusing cookies doesn't stop the site working, and you will still see ads, but they won't be personalised.

Advertising

pharmacytimes.ie works with Mediavine to manage the third-party advertising on the site. Mediavine and its advertising partners serve ads when you visit, and may use first- and third-party cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies to measure how ads perform, limit how often you see the same ad, and — with your consent — show you ads based on your interests.

When serving personalised ads, the data collected can include your IP address, device type, operating system and version, browser type, the language of the site, and information about your interactions with ads and websites. Mediavine's partners may combine this with data they have collected independently to provide interest-based advertising across websites, apps and devices. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they won't be personalised.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4

With your consent, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on site, the type of device and browser, approximate location (country or city) and how you arrived. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Microsoft Clarity

With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site, through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. Clarity uses first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies. We use it to find and fix usability problems. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Cookieless analytics

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, GoatCounter, and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and clicks (for example, taps on a pharmacy's phone number or directions). These don't use cookies or identify you: they record the page, referrer, browser and device type and approximate location, and we store event data about page views and clicks. We use this, in aggregate, to improve the site and may share aggregated click totals with pharmacies.

Your location

If you choose "Find nearest to me", your browser asks for permission to share your location. Your location is used in your browser to sort pharmacies by distance and is not stored by us. To refine the order of nearby pharmacies by driving distance, your approximate coordinates may be sent to openrouteservice. If you search by town or postcode instead, your search text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. Maps are provided by Mapbox, which receives your IP address and map usage when loading map tiles.

When you contact us

If you use the claim your listing form or email us, we receive the details you give us (such as your name, email, phone number, pharmacy and message). Form submissions are delivered to us by email through Resend. We use them only to respond to your request and keep them only as long as needed for that.

Legal bases

• Consent — personalised advertising, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests — running and securing the site, non-personalised ads, and cookieless analytics to understand how the site is used.
• Taking steps at your request — responding to messages and listing claims.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email info@pharmacytimes.ie. For data held by our advertising partners, you can also use the Mediavine Privacy Request Center. You have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
